Hey all! Giving Six Sentence Sunday another blast.
With Healer’s Touch on its way, I’m actually going to share six sentences from that… yay!
Here’s a brief explanation … Llew has just learned what she is after asking Jonas about the knife he is so protective of…

“What did you expect I did with it? Use it to make daisy chains? It’s a knife. Its purpose is to kill. And the Aenuks I kill are bad folk.”
Yes, she was a bad person.

Here’s the latest blurb for Healer’s Touch:
For Llew to heal, something must die.
For Llew, a young pickpocket living on the streets of a wild mining town, the real problems begin when she survives the gallows. Forced to run, she persuades a group of fighters escorting a girl to her wedding to let her travel with them. On the journey Llew faces hostile tribesmen, desperate bandits and, the enmity of her own companions should they find out who and what she is: a fugitive and a feared Healer. One of the fighters, Jonas, possesses superhuman prowess as a warrior, and carries the knife with the power to ‘kill the unkillable’; the knife that can kill Llew. Despite being of races at war for centuries, they are drawn to one another.
During the journey, they encounter Braph the magician, Jonas’ half-brother and potential nemesis. He pursues them as they journey across the sea to the continent of Phyos and just when Llew finally feels safe, he abducts her. Now he will take what is most precious to him: her blood.
Healer’s Touch is a fast-paced mix of fantasy, steampunk and Wild West adventure – and even a dash of romance!
Feel free to click on the links on the right that let you sign up to follow this blog, or follow me on Facebook or Twitter. I’ll let you know when the book comes out, don’t you worry about that! Currently slated for 31st January 2013 release, so not too far away!
Oh, and if you’re still not interested, here’s what my publisher has to say:
“Healer’s Touch is quirky, fast-paced, deliciously humorous and suitable for both the YA and adult market. With Wild West and Steampunk homages throughout – you can’t help but admire Deb E’s talent. Cross genre, cross style, but pure brilliance.” — Kristell Ink
Of course, they may have an ulterior motive for saying such nice things…

I love the attitude in the dialogue! “Use it to make daisy chains” – excellent!
Thanks for stopping by, Clare.
Yeah, hopefully I got a few lines in there without sounding forced.
Ha, reminds me of Arnold’s line in “True Lies” when his wife asks if he killed people. “Yes, but they were all bad,” he says.
Gosh, been awhile since I saw that one. But I think I liked it. Perhaps will rewatch one day.
That’s what we tell ourselves, though, isn’t it? When we watch movies and cheer the good guy on. He can kill as many bad guys as he likes, ‘cos they’re bad…
Yes, though “The Expendables 2″ was a bit much. I’ve lost my stomachs for mass slaughter of bad guys with bullets. Gas or napalm maybe, but splattering blood and flying body parts is suddenly annoying. Kind of like when I discovered that I didn’t enjoy roller coasters anymore… it was sort of a reverse epiphany, a sort of “oh, no!”
Especially when miraculously the bad guys are terrible shots!
